Today, on September 28, 17 professors and teachers working at the Yunus Rajabiy Uzbek National Institute of Musical Art, under the Ministry of Culture, were awarded the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor by the Higher Attestation Commission.
A noteworthy aspect of this initiative is that it has greatly pleased all members of the art community. Now, People's Artists of Uzbekistan, People's Singers of Uzbekistan, and Honored Artists are directly entitled to the academic titles of Professor and Associate Professor, which is significant in passing on their knowledge and skills to the younger generation.
Currently, there are about 130 professors and teachers working at the Yunus Rajabiy Uzbek National Institute of Musical Art. The scientific capacity of the institute is 48.3%.
Additionally, 20 young researchers in the institute’s doctoral program and independent researchers are completing their dissertation work. This academic year, 12 renowned professors from foreign universities have been involved in teaching activities.
Another exciting aspect of today's meeting is that the Higher Attestation Commission has approved the operation of the Scientific Council that will award the PhD degree in the field of music art, specializing in musical sciences, to young scholars and researchers.
At present, the main focus of research in national music art includes classical music, maqom performance, large songs, bakhshi (epic storytelling), and studying the creative heritage of singers, instrumentalists, bakhshi, and oqin (epic poets).
The professors and teachers of the institute are committed to promoting the understanding of our national identity and the invaluable role of national music in the education of the younger generation, in addition to the study and development of music as a whole.
Moreover, a ceremonial opening of the new "Registrar Office" building was held, along with a concert program dedicated to October 1st, “Teachers and Mentors Day,” named "Ustoz – the Bright Light of the World."
