Today, the Information and Mass Communications Agency held a press conference on the results of the activities of the Ministry of Culture in the first half of 2024 and plans for the second half of 2024.
It was attended by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, deputy ministers and employees of the central office of the ministry.
At the beginning of the press conference, the Minister of Culture Ozodbek Nazarbekov made a speech and gave a general report on the work done in the first half of 2024.
"I want our conference today to be held in the form of an open and sincere dialogue, not just for a report. I emphasized this several times during our previous meetings. Our respected journalists know this well. That is, we, as the Ministry of Culture, and besides, I personally have always been a supporter of openness and will continue to be so," Minister Ozodbek Nazarbekov said at the beginning of his speech.
During the press conference, the Ministry of Culture provided information about the work done in the first half of 2024 and the priority tasks ahead of us in the second half.
In the direction of theater and circus:
5,974 performance sessions were held in theaters, and 1.8 million spectators visited them.
In the past period of 2024, about 80 performances were staged, of which 10 are historical, 35 are national, and 26 are foreign.
During the first half of the year, "O‘zbeksirk" held 254 sessions. 213 of them were organized in the circus, 41 in mobile demonstrations. More than 50,000 spectators attended these performances.
In the direction of concert-viewing:
In the first half of 2024, 3,236 public concert-viewing events were organized, and about 5 million people were involved in them.
In the past period, 228 domestic and 28 foreign tours of the creative teams of concert and performance institutions were organized.
On April 26-30, the II International Dance Festival "Lazgi" was held in Khiva, the II "International Festival of Goldsmiths and Jewelry", on May 3-5, in Bukhara, the 63rd International Flower Festival was held in Namangan, in May-June, on May 27-30 In June there was the II International Maqom Art Conference which was organized in Zomin district.
In the direction of educational institutions:
A total of 367 educational institutions are operating in the system of the Ministry of Culture. In particular, there are 325 children's music and art schools, 29 specialized art and culture schools and boarding schools, 2 colleges, 5 higher education institutions and their 4 branches, and 2 training centers.
18 thousand 683 professors and teachers are teaching 105 thousand 703 students in these educational institutions.
Also, 21 students studying in higher education institutions won state scholarships and increased by 1.3 times compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
In order to establish international cooperation in educational institutions, bilateral cooperation agreements were concluded between more than 10 similar educational institutions and organizations.
5 leading professors and teachers of foreign higher education institutions were involved, they organized classes and held "Skills classes".
22 professors and teachers working in higher education institutions received academic degrees and titles.
7 types of national musical instruments were delivered to planned children's music and art schools.
In the direction of cultural activity, intangible cultural heritage and folk art:
Today, 4,171 clubs, studios and artistic amateur groups operate in 837 cultural centers of the Ministry of Culture.
57,300 residents, including 49,500 young people, are included in the organized circles, studios and artistic amateur teams.
These institutions organized 26,800 cultural and educational events in the first half of 2024.
"Pottery schools of Uzbekistan", "Iftar and social and cultural traditions related to it", "Painting - the art of book decoration" were included in the representative list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity of UNESCO.
97,000 users (more than 42,000 are blind and visually impaired) are included in 146 special libraries for the blind in the ministry system.
In the past period, the library fund was enriched by a total of 2,849 libraries based on the interests of users.
Of the newly acquired literature, 451 are in Braille, 524 are in audio, and 1,874 are in print.
17 titles of audio and 20 copies of Braille books were commissioned in the recording studio and typography of the special library of the blind.
In the direction of working with creative youth:
In the first half of the year, 11 pageants, festivals, conferences and other events were held.
About 3,852 creative young people took part in them, and 129 of them became winners and prize-winners.
In the direction of digitization:
The use of modern information technologies and the knowledge and skills of 600 managers and management employees of the Ministry and the system have been increased.
7 employees responsible for digitalization in the field received the International ICT certificate.
In addition, the stritart.uz platform was created in order to evaluate the activities of the participants of the "Street Art and Music" project based on the rating and to encourage them.
The mobile application "Cholgu.uz" was launched, which provides the population, especially young people, with the initial understanding of national musical instruments and teaches them how to play them.
In the direction of public-private partnership:
In connection with the establishment of cultural facilities on the basis of public-private partnership, PPP agreements with a total value of 41 billion sums were signed with initiative investors on 5 projects in January-July.
In the field of international relations:
The Committee of International Relations together with national cultural centers and other partner organizations organized more than 3,000 events.
In particular, 184 conferences, 605 roundtable discussions, 256 seminars, 209 forums and festivals, 555 competitions and exhibitions, 1,637 cultural and educational events and 15 reporting conferences were held.
On July 30 - People's Friendship Day, the "Dostlik" festival was organized from July 29 to August 4, 2024.
In the field of cinematography:
7 feature films such as "Bahodir Yalangtosh", "House", "Samurai", "Homecoming", "Officer", "Ishq va Anduh", "Odina" were created on the basis of the state order.
26 documentaries were produced in such categories as "New Uzbekistan Cinematography", "Uzbekiston Arts Centers", "Masters of Uzbekistan Cinematography".
5 films in cooperation with the ministries and agencies, in particular "Hudud" with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, "Returning Home" with the Youth Affairs Agency, "Symbols of the Motherland" with "Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine", "Invincible: Go to Tokyo" with the Surkhandarya Regional Government. They cooperated in the creation of "l" films.
Also, the film "One day in Samarkand" is being shot in cooperation with the creators of the Kyrgyz Republic, and the film "Makhtumkuli" is being shot together with the film studio "Turkmanfilm" of the Republic of Turkmenistan.
In the direction of international cooperation:
A number of positive activities are being carried out in the field of culture and art to further develop international relations.
In particular, "Uzbek Culture Days" were held in Baku on January 20-26, Beijing on January 20-27, Dushanbe on April 15-20, Tbilisi on July 9-12, and Astana on August 6-9.
Also, the week of "Uzbek culture, crafts and tourism" was organized in Doha on February 20-26, and the "Festival of Culture and Food of Uzbekistan" was organized in London on June 5-11.
At the same time, "Azerbaijani Culture Days", "Mongolian Culture Days" from June 22-27, and "Kyrgyz Republic Culture Days" from July 18-22 were organized in Uzbekistan.
Bilateral cultural cooperation programs and protocols for 2024-2026 were signed with countries such as Korea, Turkey, Tajikistan, Belarus, the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation.
During the press conference, the Ministry of Culture also informed about the priority tasks planned for the second half of 2024.
