Hello, dear colleagues and participants of the meeting!
Allow me to warmly greet the members of the Azerbaijan delegation in the eastern pearl, the city of Bukhara.
I am glad to have the opportunity to discuss issues of cultural and humanitarian cooperation between our countries.
Shared historical roots, similar national customs and traditions, a common language, culture, and religion define the close cooperation with our brotherly Azerbaijan.
The works of famous Uzbek and Azerbaijani classical representatives — Alisher Navoi, Mirzo Ulughbek, Nizami Ganjavi, Muhammad Fuzuli, and other creators have been translated into both Uzbek and Azerbaijani languages.
Cooperation in the field of theater art is also steadily developing. The mutual theater tours between the two countries have become a good tradition.
Cooperation in the field of education is also distinguished by its importance.
The year 2023 has been eventful in terms of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
Azerbaijani representatives have regularly participated in international festivals such as “Bakhshy Art,” “Maqom,” and “Eastern Melodies.”
In June 2023, the participation of Azerbaijani representatives in events dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the TURKSOY organization in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara was of great significance.
Between 2021-2024, every year mutual culture days and over 10 theater tours have been organized in both countries. Around 30 festivals and competitions held in Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan saw active participation from the artists of both countries.
In August 2023, the "Uzbekistan Culture Days" held in Azerbaijan became a major historical event.
In January of this year, the Uzbekistan Science and Culture Days were held in Baku.
The grand cultural events were opened at the Azerbaijan M. Fuzuli Manuscripts Institute with a unique exhibition dedicated to manuscripts of Uzbekistan and a roundtable discussion on “Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan: Cultural Dialogue.”
In June of this year, within the framework of the “Azerbaijan Culture Days” held in Uzbekistan, the Azerbaijan State Dance Ensemble performed the concert "My Azerbaijan" at the Muqimi Musical Drama Theater. The event was attended by cultural and artistic representatives, as well as the public of the brotherly country.
To further develop bilateral cooperation, we propose the following:
-
Continuing bilateral cultural cooperation under the Special Action Program.
-
Implementing joint projects to scientifically research the cultural foundations of Turkic peoples within the framework of cooperation and the TURKSOY organization.
-
Ensuring regular information exchange and participation in festivals and competitions held in the field of culture between the two countries.
-
Implementing projects to develop cooperation in the field of cinema. Organizing “Uzbek Cinema Days” in Azerbaijan this year.
Thank you for your attention!
