Illegal Mining Activity Detected in Gijduvan District, Bukhara Region

An instance of unauthorized use of subsoil resources was uncovered in the Gijduvan district of the Bukhara region. An inspection carried out by the North-Western Regional Inspectorate under the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology revealed that "SH.D.T." LLC had been extracting sand and gravel mixtures without the required permits.
According to the findings, a total of 21,829.4 m³ (or 41,694.154 tons) of sand and gravel mixture was illegally mined outside the designated areas of the "Korakhon-III" deposit. These illegal activities resulted in an estimated economic damage of 504.4 million UZS to the interests of the state and society.
The documents collected by the regional inspectorate have been forwarded to the Bukhara Regional Prosecutor's Office for legal action. Currently, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 196-1 (Illegal extraction of minerals) and Article 229 (Arbitrariness/Self-governance) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and investigations are ongoing.
