Dear colleagues!
In recent years, our country has been consistently implementing large-scale reforms aimed at preventing and combating corruption, and putting an end to corruption factors in all areas of state and social construction.
In recognizing the results of the reforms being implemented in our country to combat corruption by the international community, it is necessary to separately recognize that the use of preventive mechanisms against corruption is a priority based on the relevant decrees and resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and that specific measures have been identified to ensure the transparency of the activities of state bodies and organizations.
As evidence of this, it should be noted that at the end of 2024, Uzbekistan's position in the international openness rankings improved by 138 places, rising to first in Central Asia and 30th in the world, and according to the 2024 anti-corruption ranking of the international non-governmental non-profit organization Transparency International, our country took 121st place out of 180 countries with 32 points.
However, at the same time, the fact that the world economy suffers losses of $ 3 trillion per year due to corruption is evidence that this is a global danger, that it undermines the people's trust in the state, the Constitution and laws, and becomes a serious threat to sustainable development and security.
The fact that the expanded meeting of the National Anti-Corruption Council, dedicated to the “Effectiveness of Corruption Prevention Work and Future Priority Tasks” held in March of this year under the personal chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the assignment of a number of important tasks to relevant senior officials is another clear evidence that the sector has risen to the level of state policy in our country.
As is known, in the effective fight against corruption, the implementation of tasks such as determining specific measures to prevent corruption in all spheres of state and public life, timely identification of corruption-related offenses, putting an end to them, eliminating the conditions that enable corruption, and ensuring the inevitability of responsibility for committing offenses are priorities.
The Mining and Geology Supervision Inspectorate has developed a number of internal regulatory documents and procedures to establish the above-mentioned measures and improve the mechanism for combating corruption.
In particular, the Inspectorate has adopted the “Anti-Corruption Policy”, the “Regulation on Conflict of Interest Management”, the “Corruption Risk Assessment Methodology”, the “Code of Conduct” for Inspectorate employees and about 15 other similar internal documents.
In addition, communication channels have been established to report corrupt actions by Inspectorate employees, and information about them is publicly posted on the organization’s official website and social media channels.
The Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between the Anti-Corruption Agency and the Mining and Geology Supervision Inspectorate, as well as the Plan of Measures on Priority Tasks in Combating Corruption in the Organization in 2025, were approved, and a number of practical works were carried out to form an uncompromising attitude towards corruption among the system's employees.
In turn, the Mining and Geology Supervision Inspectorate rejects any forms and manifestations of corrupt actions, ensures the formation of a sharp intolerance towards corruption in society, carries out practical work to prevent corruption in the system and eliminate its causes, and pays special attention to strict compliance with legislation, ensuring honesty, openness and transparency.
Each of us must not only consciously comply with the legislative acts adopted in our country, but also view this work as our human duty.
Taking this opportunity, I call on our colleagues and compatriots to adhere to business standards, strictly adhere to existing anti-corruption legislation, and unite in promptly reporting any cases of corruption, conflict of interest, and violations of the law.
Sincerely, Head of the Inspection for Supervision of the Mining Industry and Geology
