The regional police department held an urgent videoconference meeting to discuss the implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PR-1, dated January 3, 2025, “On measures to create a safe environment in mahallas of the republic in 2025 and further increase the effectiveness of the system of early crime prevention.”

The meeting was attended by the regional prosecutor, senior adviser to justice Bakhtiyar Babajanov, the head of the regional Internal Affairs Department, Colonel Timur Ismailov, the head of the regional Tax Department, Erkin Narmanov, the head of the Surkhandarya Regional Department of the National Guard of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Lieutenant Colonel Rustam Jabborov. Deputy regional prosecutors, deputy heads of the regional Internal Affairs Department, officials of the National Guard Department, heads of all sectoral services of the regional Internal Affairs Department, sector heads from city and district studios, deputy heads of the district Internal Affairs Department, all sectoral service employees, heads of the district tax department, officials of the Security Department under the district National Guard Department also participated at the meeting.

Colonel T. Ismailov, head of the regional internal affairs department, introduced the agenda and gave relevant instructions to the officials assigned to the 121 red-category mahallas with a severe criminogenic situation. These instructions included curbing crime, properly organizing the activities of the mahalla council members, conducting a thorough analysis of the factors that create conditions for crime growth, effectively carrying out work in this regard, and preventing crimes that may be committed in information technologies.

The regional prosecutor, senior adviser to Justice B. Babajanov, also repeatedly warned that the officials assigned to each region must conscientiously fulfil the tasks set by the head of our state based on the resolution, provide information on the work done at the discussion meetings held with the leadership of the region and the Republic at the end of each month, quarter, and half-year, and that leaders and officials who are negligent in this regard will be punished up to and including dismissal from office.

During the meeting, Lieutenant Colonel Rustam Djabborov, head of the Surkhandarya Regional Department of the National Guard, proposed further revitalizing the Security Service activities in cooperation with the heads of the city and district sectors in the areas of camera surveillance of territories, protection of buildings and structures, and residential buildings.

The problems and proposals of officials participating in the regional, city and district studios on the agenda were also heard.

Following the meeting, a working group was formed by the regional prosecutor's office and the regional internal affairs department. The group was given relevant instructions to monitor the daily work being carried out on the spot and take measures to eliminate the identified problems and shortcomings.
