On July 29, a final conference was held on the topic of "Combating human trafficking: national approaches and international standards", which presented the results of the information campaign conducted as part of the month-long campaign to combat human trafficking. This conference also provided an opportunity for all interested parties to discuss the most relevant directions for future cooperation.
The event was attended by Pulat Bobojonov, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Combating Human Trafficking, Ravshanbek Alimov, Chairman of the Oliy Majlis Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investments and Tourism, Zeynal Gadjiev, Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration, Ambassador Antti Karttunen - the project coordinator of the OSCE in Uzbekistan, and members of the national commission, diplomatic corps, civil society institutions, representatives of non-governmental and non-profit organizations, international organizations and the heads of law enforcement agencies participated.
This conference is primarily intended to evaluate the success of the program, share experiences, and develop measures to strengthen the fight against human trafficking on both a national and international scale.
A particular emphasis was placed on further improving the cooperation between state bodies, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations in order to prevent and combat human trafficking.
The event focused on topics including "National practices and analyses of human trafficking in Uzbekistan" and "Rehabilitation and reintegration of victims of human trafficking: current situation and international standards."
Following the event, the participants received the Communiqué dedicated to the results of the conference "Combating human trafficking: national approaches and international standards".
