Humanitarian aid

Within the framework of cooperation in the field of humanitarian emergency response rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan in August 1999 took part in carrying out rescue operations in Sakaria, Turkey (150 km from Istanbul).

In the city, which covers an area of more than 300km2, about 80% of the houses were destroyed. During the period of stay at the site of the tragedy, 210 destroyed buildings were examined, with special signs permitting their demolition, 8 bodies of the victims were extracted from under the rubble. 150 residents of the city were assisted in removing personal belongings, documents and jewelry from the rubble of houses. 530 residents of Sakaria received medical assistance, as well as assistance in carrying out a number of complex operations in the city hospital. Rescuers also provided assistance in the construction of tent camps for the affected population, its training in emergency situations, self-and mutual assistance.

Three special rescue vehicles, an Autonomous power plant, small-sized lifting and cutting hydraulic mechanisms, necessary medical equipment and medicines, as well as humanitarian assistance through the National Red Crescent Society of Uzbekistan, which was distributed among the affected urban population, contributed to the successful implementation of these works.

At the beginning of March 2001, flooding damaged areas in Western Ukraine. By Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of March 15, 2001, the Republic of Uzbekistan provided humanitarian assistance to the population of Ukraine in the amount of 28,476 kg of cargo in the amount of 29,020,550 thousand soums (In particular, beds and rubber boots).

On 26 December 2003, a devastating earthquake (6.3 points) occurred in the ancient city of Bam in Kerman province, Islamic Republic of Iran, killing about 35,000 people and injuring more than 22,000 people. About 90% of the clay buildings of the historic city were destroyed. By order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan of 26 December 2003, on 30 December 2003, Uzbekistan provided humanitarian assistance to the Islamic Republic of Iran in the amount of 13 tons.

On 8 October 2005, an earthquake with a magnitude of up to 8 on the Richter scale occurred in the Northern regions of Pakistan (95 km North of Islamabad), affecting more than 2.5 million people. By order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated October 11, 2005, from Uzbekistan had provided humanitarian assistance to the people of Pakistan, only 40 597 kg of cargo for the sum of 48 997 916 thousand soums (In particular the camp tents USB-56, UST-56 and cotton blankets).

On the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On humanitarian assistance to the population of the Kyrgyz Republic affected by the earthquake" dated October 8, 2008, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized coordination and carried out work on the formation of loading, delivery and transfer of humanitarian cargo to the Kyrgyz Republic. In total, from Uzbekistan to the Kyrgyz Republic was transferred 393 225 kg of humanitarian aid in the amount of 201 000 USD.

On the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated May 22, 2009, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized coordination and carried out work on the formation of loading, delivery and transfer of humanitarian cargo to the Republic of Tajikistan. A total of 1,229,000 kg of humanitarian aid
(20 wagons) was transferred from Uzbekistan to Tajikistan.

On the basis of the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 23, 2010, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized coordination and carried out work on the formation of loading, delivery and transfer of humanitarian cargo to the population of the Kyrgyz Republic. In total from Uzbekistan to Kyrgyzstan were transferred to 400 000 kg of humanitarian aid (11 cars) in the amount of 74287,87 USD.

On the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated August 20, 2010, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Uzbekistan organized coordination and carried out work on the formation of loading, delivery and transfer of humanitarian cargo to the population of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan affected by heavy rainfall. Uzbekistan provided humanitarian aid to the population of Pakistan for a total of 37,219 kg of cargo in the amount of us $ 155,239.

On the basis of the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated March 22, 2011, the Republic of Uzbekistan provided humanitarian assistance to the population of Japan, a total of 14,800 kg of cargo in the amount of 202 107 us dollars. In particular, 10,800 kg of humanitarian aid in the amount of 168,240 us dollars (200 tents and 2,000 blankets) were allocated from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In order to support the efforts of the foreign countries to fighting against the spread of coronavirus and to ensure joint measures to overcome it, in accordance with the Order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan during the February-December months of 2020 year work was carried out on the formation and delivery to the Republic of Azerbaijan (1.7 mln. dollars USA), the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan (4.7 mln. dollars USA), the Republic of Belarus (2.2 mln. dollars USA), the Kyrgyz Republic (4.2 mln. dollars USA), the Chinese People's Republic (1.8 mln. dollars USA) the Islamic Republic of Iran 6,6 thousand dollars USA), the Russian Federation (18,9 mln. dollars USA) and the Republic of Tajikistan (27 mln. dollars USA).of humanitarian aid composed of medical masks, gauzes, test-systems, protective overalls, foodstuff, building materials and other necessary things to fighting against coronavirus
