Environmental Damage in Bekabad District Exceeds 100 Billion Sums

The Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of Tashkent Region conducted a routine environmental inspection in the "Farhod" mahalla of Bekabad district.
During the inspection, authorities discovered four individuals engaged in illegal sand mining.
According to the investigation, the environmental damage caused by this activity amounted to 100 billion 627 million 800 thousand sums. All collected documents have been submitted to law enforcement agencies for legal evaluation.
For reference: Earlier, in Samarkand region, two cases of illegal sand and gravel extraction resulted in environmental damage over 800 billion sums.
