Amazing birds of Zarafshan National Nature Park

Zarafshan National Nature Park was established in February 2018. It is home to 274 animal species and over 200 bird species, including 4 mammal species and 26 bird species listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The Black-Throated Thrush breeds in Siberia and Eastern Europe, spending winters in Central and South Asia. During migration and wintering, it can be found on mountain slopes, in thickets along rivers and in forest belts and gardens. In winter, it inhabits areas where barberry, oleaster and juniper grow, making it a frequent sight throughout the national park during the colder months.
The White-Winged Woodpecker is a non-migratory bird, the white-winged woodpecker moves to mountainous regions only during winter. It inhabits flat tugai forests along riverbanks, village gardens with walnut and fruit trees and groves. In desert areas, it can be found in saxaul thickets. Within the Zarafshan National Nature Park, it resides in forested areas.
