The damage to nature caused by illegal fishing amounts to nearly half a billion sums

Employees of the Department for the Protection of the "Aydar-Arnasay" lake system of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change conducted another inspection raid to identify and prevent illegal fishing activities.
During the raid in the "Aydar-Arnasay" lake system, in the Navruz neighborhood (mahalla) of the Arnasay district in the Jizzakh region, two residents, from the Narpay district of Samarkand region S.M. and S.S. were detained for illegal fishing.
Upon inspection, approximately 145 kg of fish (1300 individuals of the caspian roach) and fishing gear (a boat and net) were found. The estimated damage to nature as a result of the incident amounted to 487 million sums.
The necessary documents have been completed regarding the incident and will be sent to the judicial authorities for appropriate legal measures.
