Employees of the Department of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Tashkent region conducted an inspection raid at the "Akhsarsoy" site of the Burchmulla State Forestry in the Bostanlyk district.
During the raid, a bear hide was discovered on the site. Upon examination of the evidence at the Institute of Zoology under the Academy of Sciences, it was determined to belong to a Tien Shan brown bear. Unknown individuals had killed the bear using a rope, removed all parts of its body, and left only the skin at the scene.
For reference: The Tien Shan brown bear is listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan and Appendix I of CITES as a vulnerable, widespread, but mosaically distributed subspecies. Hunting for him is strictly prohibited.
The collected information regarding this incident has been sent to the Tashkent Regional Department of Internal Affairs to identify the violators.
