Fauna of the Kyzylkum Nature Reserve

For reference: the Kyzylkum State Nature Reserve was established on June 23, 1971, and spans parts of the Bukhara and Khorezm regions. The reserve is home to 359 species of animals, including 37 species of mammals, 266 species of birds, 29 species of reptiles, 2 species of amphibians, and 25 species of fish. Of these, 50 species are listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan.
In particular, the Bukhara deer inhabiting the Kyzylkum Nature Reserve is classified as an endangered, locally widespread subspecies in the Red Book of Uzbekistan. Additionally, the Bukhara deer is listed in Annex II of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) and the Bonn Convention, which recognizes it as a transboundary migratory species.
