It is worth noting that R. Idiev had previously contacted the Department of Ecology of the Navoi region on this issue, after which specialists from the Zarafshan City Department conducted an on-site inspection.
During the inspection, it was found that 4 healthy perennial elms grow on the territory. Due to the indefinite moratorium imposed in the country on cutting down valuable species of trees and shrubs that are not included in the state forest fund, according to Presidential Decree No. 46 dated December 30, 2022, the citizen was refused to cut down trees.
However, the citizen appealed to the court with a demand to the regional Department of Ecology for compensation for damage caused by trees to the fence of his parking lot, which he was also denied.
The citizen did not agree with these decisions and appealed to the Ministry of Ecology. According to his request, a working group consisting of responsible employees of the Ministry, inspectors of the Department of Ecology of the Navoi region, employees of the district khokimiyat and the Zarafshan city department of the Chamber of State Cadastres arrived at the site to study this issue and clarify the situation.
As a result of the inspection, it turned out that 4 elm trees growing on the territory have healthy growth and do not harm the parking lot.
Residents of the city and local journalists also expressed their disagreement with the felling of the trees mentioned in this appeal.
On this issue, in connection with the indefinite moratorium on cutting down trees, according to Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 46 dated December 30, 2021, explanatory work was carried out with the citizen, and an act on refusal to cut down trees was drawn up.
