For information: "The Nature Conserva ncy”(TNC) is a prestigious international environmental organization founded in 1951 in the USA. It operates in 80 countries, through representative offices in 41 countries, and has an annual turnover of $1.7 billion.
At the beginning of the meeting, J. Morris congratulated the Government of Uzbekistan on the achievements in the field of environmental protection in recent years, highly appreciating the opening of the office of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The foreign side was informed in detail about the ongoing large-scale reforms in the field of the environment and climate change in the country.
A special impression on J. Morris created the Central Asian University for the Study of the Environment and Climate Change (Green University) in Tashkent. The TNC CEO expressed interest in supporting the implementation of educational programs at this university.
During the negotiations, the organization's extensive experience in land management, geology, and the resolution of intersectoral conflicts was noted on the example of many developed countries.
Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on sending The Nature Conservancy mission to Uzbekistan to conduct an in-depth analysis and identify promising areas of cooperation.
In addition, J. Morris confirmed her readiness to participate in the 20th Conference of the Parties to the CITES Convention (CITES COP20), which will be held from November 24 to December 2025 in Samarkand.
