For information: in order to effectively organize the tasks set in 2024 to expand the national "Yashil Makon" project aimed at stabilizing the environmental situation in accordance with the "Uzbekistan 2030" strategy, Resolution No. 144 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan was adopted on March 7, 2024. According to the document, as part of landscaping works in the autumn season of the current year, 80 million saplings of trees and shrubs will be planted throughout the republic. 

So, on November 8, planting of tree seedlings began in the mountainous regions of the republic, on November 15 in the Surkhandarya region, and on November 12 in other regions of the republic. A total of 49 million 370 thousand seedlings have been planted to date. 

In particular, 6.2 million seedlings were planted in the Andijan region, 5.7 million seedlings in the Khorezm region, 4.8 million seedlings in the Bukhara region, 5.2 million seedlings in the Ferghana region, 4.1 million seedlings in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 3 million seedlings in the Navoi region, and 3.7 million seedlings in the Namangan region. There are 3.7 million seedlings in the Tashkent region, 2.2 million seedlings in the Syrdarya region, 2.2 million seedlings in the Kashkadarya region, 475 thousand seedlings in the Surkhandarya region, and 271 thousand seedlings in the city of Tashkent. Data on all planted trees are entered into the "Yashil Makon" electronic platform.

Of the planted trees, 9,825,000 seedlings were planted around farms and cotton clusters, 10,246,000 seedlings were planted to create orchards and vineyards, 14,194,000 seedlings were planted around villages, mahallas, and settlements, 2,865,000 seedlings were planted at the facilities of district (city) landscaping departments, 2,398,000 seedlings were planted on the lands of the forest fund, 1,198,000 seedlings were planted around roads and railways, and 564,000 seedlings were allocated to create "green belts" around enterprises of category I-II in terms of environmental impact risk.

In addition, work has begun on the implementation of 215 winning projects within the framework of the "My Garden" project. In order to ensure the stability of planting prices, 623 fairs have been organized in each district and city with the participation of entities engaged in the cultivation of seedlings.

In addition, about 30 thousand seedlings of ornamental and fruit trees and shrubs are being planted throughout the republic on an area of 65 hectares, and "green gardens" are being created. 

At the same time, in order to stabilize the environmental situation and prevent the rise of sand and dust particles from the drained bottom of the Aral Sea, "green covers" have been created in the Aral Sea region and nearby areas on an area of 215 thousand hectares. Of these, 112.5 thousand hectares are in the Muynak district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, 41 thousand hectares are in the Alat district of the Bukhara region, 51.3 thousand hectares are in the Tamdin and Uchkuduk districts of the Navoi region, and 10 thousand hectares are in the Tuprakkalin district of the Khorezm region, as well as on an area of 5,000 hectares in mountainous and forested areas, forests have been created and restored the covers.
