The fair was opened by Umid Shadiyev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee, who noted that the government of the country has carried out large-scale work in the tourism sector aimed at increasing the tourism business, building new hotels, attracting international hotel brands, and organizing charter flights to attract more tourists.
"The work carried out gives good results. The number of foreign tourists visiting our country is constantly increasing every year. In 2023, this figure was about 7 million, and this year we mobilized all the possibilities to increase it to 10 million", said the chairman.
Minister of Ecology Aziz Abdukhakimov got acquainted with the stands presented at the fair, noting the importance of sustainable tourism development and the preservation of the country's natural and cultural heritage, which contributes not only to attracting foreign guests but also to maintaining harmony between the development of the tourism industry and the environment.
A special feature of TITF-2024 was the participation of new exhibitors from regions of the Russian Federation, such as the Altai Republic and the Vladimir Region, as well as new companies from Georgia, the Czech Republic, and the Federal Republic of Germany. Also, special attention should be paid this year to the participation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China, which was presented for the first time under the National Pavilion of China within the framework of the fair.
This year, the fair brought together experts in the tourism business from all over the world: employees of leading travel and transport companies, major hotel chains, diplomatic corps, educational institutions in the field of tourism, as well as representatives of MICE tourism.
For reference: in 2023, TITF hosted over 1,500 participants from both local and international organizations, 15 foreign and more than 50 local travel companies under the Hosted Buyers program, as well as more than 13,000 visitors from 30 countries around the world. In addition, last year's fair was marked by the signing of more than 8 thousand agreements and the holding of more than 20 thousand negotiations between representatives of the tourism industry.
The three-day program of TITF-2024 includes a media camp, presentations of tourist destinations, sessions on inbound and educational tourism, organization of business negotiations, and meetings.
