Issues of promoting the environmental and tourism sectors were discussed with Euronews

At the beginning of the meeting, A. Abdukhakimov provided detailed information about the environmental reforms being carried out in the country, including the campaign for afforestation of the bottom of the Aral Sea on an area of 2 million hectares, the national initiative "Yashil Makon", the creation of the Climate Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and others. In turn, U.Shadiyev spoke about projects in the tourism industry of the country.
The opening of two important universities in the country was particularly noted: the Central Asian University of Environmental and Climate Change Studies (Green University) and the Silk Road International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage.
During the talks, the parties discussed fruitful cooperation in popularizing the image of Uzbekistan through the coverage of objective information about the country on the TV channel and the promotion of its rich tourism potential and cultural heritage in the international arena. It was noted that joint projects, including reports, programs, advertising, and coverage of major events in Uzbekistan, attracted thousands of new tourists.
For reference: Euronews is a European daily 24-hour information TV channel combining video chronicles of world events and audio commentary in 30 languages. This year, the TV channel launched a large information campaign about Uzbekistan, including the release of 15 programs with 280 broadcasts, the screening of commercials with 630 broadcasts, and the publication of articles on the Euronews website and social networks.
In addition, prospects for further strengthening the partnership were discussed. Special attention was paid to the possibility of creating a special cycle of programs on ecotourism and environmental initiatives in Uzbekistan. The Uzbek side also proposed to develop content for social networks and mobile applications, which will help attract a young and active audience.
Pedro Vargas David stressed that Uzbekistan is an amazing country for investment, and Euronews will continue to support the promotion of the country's positive image as well as share changes and innovations in the environmental and tourism sectors.
