In addition, further opportunities for attracting the youth of Uzbekistan and the entire Central Asian region were discussed. It was emphasized that young people have the energy, potential, and enthusiasm to solve many climate problems, which is especially important for the Central Asian region, where environmental problems are becoming more widespread.
During the event, the Uzbek and Karakalpak versions of the ClimateScience website were launched. This website is a global platform that simplifies complex climate science into accessible educational resources, facilitating solution-oriented learning and empowering individuals, especially youth, to combat climate change. To translate the website into local languages, the Ministry of Ecology has been cooperating with the platform and a group of young people for more than a year.
The event provided an opportunity to raise awareness of current initiatives aimed at empowering young people on climate issues in Uzbekistan and to discuss experiences, challenges, and conclusions drawn from the implementation of these projects.
