National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan

Within the framework of COP29, the Government of Uzbekistan will present the National Pavilion, the architectural concept of which is based on the traditional Uzbek hovli courtyard, which is the heart of every home, where every morning begins with care and warmth.  This center of family life, framed by greenery and vines, symbolizes the harmonious coexistence of man and nature.

The pavilion was built using sustainable, traditional materials of Uzbekistan and ancient methods, time-tested and adapted to the climate of the country. It reflects traditional elements such as adobe plaster, ayvan and topchan. These three elements in hovli work in unity, creating a cozy and eco-friendly space. Adobe plaster stabilizes the temperature and adds aesthetic warmth to the house, ayvan creates a cool and open space for communication, and topchan becomes a family recreation center. Together they embody cultural values such as caring for nature, family traditions and a sense of comfort in an Uzbek home.

The pavilion of the Republic of Uzbekistan — "Sustainability inside" — tells about traditional values and approaches formed by the unique culture, history and nature of the country.
