For reference: earlier, during the visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Ecology to the Republic of Korea, a grant agreement worth $6.2 million was signed with K-eco for the construction of a waste recycling plant in the Jizzakh region.
During the meeting, three key projects funded in the amount of 6.2 million dollars were considered, namely the Maidontol, Dangara, and Sharof Rashidov landfills. I. Kutbiddinov noted that these projects are under implementation and play an important role in Uzbekistan's strategy to improve the environmental situation. They also discussed the possibilities of bilateral cooperation in the field of environmental protection related to international projects to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, in particular at the Maidontol and Dangara landfills.
The foreign delegation stressed that K-eco is actively involved in various environmental projects. Among them are creating a clean atmosphere, building a sustainable society for recycling resources, creating a safe living environment, and strengthening institutional opportunities for the future. It was noted that the organization has the status of a social institution and actively participates in environmental initiatives.
During the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for the introduction of new technologies that can significantly improve the environmental situation in Uzbekistan. In particular, emphasis was placed on the development of innovative solutions for landfills and waste management systems. These technologies will reduce the negative impact on the environment and improve the efficiency of existing systems.
As a result, an agreement was reached to organize trainings for Uzbek specialists in Korea, which will help them familiarize themselves with modern methods and approaches in the field of environmental protection and improve their skills in the field of new technologies and practices.
