Employees of the "Central Kyzylkum" National Natural Park of the Department of Protected Natural Territories of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change photographed a flock of ruddy shelducks in flight.
The ruddy shelduck or Brahminy duck is a waterfowl of the duck family, which has a characteristic orange-brown plumage, while the head has a lighter color than the similar piebald. Brahminy ducks usually live in pairs or small groups, much less often in a large flock. But during molting and wintering, they can gather in large groups on lakes or slow rivers.
For reference: The "Central Kyzylkum" National Nature Park was established in February 2022 on the territory of Uchkuduk district of the Navoi region. The park is home to 66 species of animals, 36 of which are listed in the Red Book of Uzbekistan.
