For information: "Aralkum" National Nature Park was established on March 4, 2022, on the territory of the Muynak district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. It is home to 25 species of animals, 4 of which are included in the Red Book of Uzbekistan. One of them is a burial ground included in the Red Book of Uzbekistan, the Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and Appendix I of CITES in the status of a vulnerable and declining subspecies.
Today, the number of burial grounds has greatly decreased. It is estimated that the number of individuals in the world ranges from 3.5 thousand to 15 thousand. The spring flight takes place in February-April, and the migration of young birds takes place in April-May. The autumn flight is in October-December. The main factors in the reduction of the burial ground are the economic development of virgin lands in desert and semi-desert zones, the destruction of nests, and death on power lines.
