The organizers of the action were the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, the Republican Center for the Organization of Sanitary Cleaning Works under the Ministry, together with “Coca-Cola” and JSCB "Uzpromstroybank”.
The event was attended by Minister of Ecology Aziz Abdukhakimov, the Republican Center for the Organization of Sanitary Cleaning Works, representatives of the Tashkent Region Ecology Department and the Ministry's system organizations, young eco-activists, students, and the media.
"A place where garbage is not thrown is cleaner than a place where it is cleaned. Therefore, first of all, you should not throw garbage where it is not supposed to. Our main goal is to change the attitude of the general public towards the field of waste management and thereby reduce their formation. We must keep the environment clean every day, not just on World Cleanup Day", said Aziz Abdukhakimov.
During the plogging, participants, under the leadership of the minister, cleared the designated territory in the Tashkent region of garbage. Among the 12 teams, the first place was taken by the team of school No. 31 of the Tashkent region, which collected 120 kg of garbage. In total, 575.13 kg of waste was collected in the Tashkent region during the campaign. Of these, 100 kg of garbage from plastic bottles were sent for recycling.
In addition, the event was attended by young environmental artists who painted paintings on the theme of environmental cleanliness. At the end of the event, the winners and prize-winners were awarded prizes and certificates.
