An attempt to illegally export 400 Steppe Tortoises to Tajikistan has been stopped

The Department of Ecology of the Tashkent region, together with the regional customs administration and relevant authorities, conducted another raid event.
During the raid at the Farkhod border post in Bekabad, a citizen of the Republic of Tajikistan, E.B., born in 1989, was detained, trying to smuggle 400 Steppe Tortoises to Tajikistan.
The Department of Ecology of the Tashkent region temporarily housed the turtles in the "Tabiat bag'rida" nursery, located in the Zangiata district. In addition, the documents on this case will be sent to the judicial authorities in the near future for a legal assessment of the situation and taking the necessary measures.
