Representatives of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, nearby mahallas, media, and bloggers attended the event. Minister of Ecology Aziz Abdukhakimov presented the concept of landscaping and creating a public green park.
Creation of a green park is provided for by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 106, "On establishing the Climate Council under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan", dated July 23, 2024. The project concept includes landscaping of the parking area with greenery and walking alleys, the creation of a central square, a green open-air amphitheater, a lake with decorative carp and an irrigation reservoir, an interactive games area, a library, a rose garden, an art gallery, a stream with a waterfall, a reading garden, a playground, the chess garden, etc. objects intended for the recreation of the population in nature.
Special attention in the project is paid to the creation of an extensive green area, which will become a key element of the park. The plans include planting rare and local species of trees and shrubs, which will not only decorate the territory but also help improve the ecological situation in the city.
"The creation of a green park will have a beneficial effect on the ecosystem of the capital, contributing to the restoration of biodiversity. Planting rare and native plant species will strengthen the natural balance, and eco-tropics will allow visitors to get to know the diversity of flora better. The green zone will also become an important element for improving air quality and the general state of the environment", noted A. Abdukhakimov.
An Astrograph Tower located in the park is planned to be converted into a library, and dark zones for stargazing will be created around it. Educational banners integrated into the surrounding park will tell about astronomy and the functions that this tower performed, inspiring the younger generation to discover and strive for knowledge.
Akkurgan Canal will be restored on the territory of the park, the banks of which will be lined with stone. A path with shady trees and lush vegetation will be landscaped along the canal. Also, a rose garden with an area of four thousand square meters will be created in the park, which will include more than 100 types of roses.
It is worth noting that the green area of the park will not only be decorative—it will create a natural microclimate, contributing to air purification and noise reduction. In addition, special ecological trails will allow visitors to get acquainted with the diversity of the flora, and the provided picnic and outdoor recreation areas will provide ideal conditions for outdoor recreation.
