Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan strengthen cooperation in the field of environmental education

Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov and acting Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic Azis Saparaliev signed a Memorandum on providing grant places at the Central Asian University for the Study of Environment and Climate Change (Green University) in Tashkent.

The agreement was signed to create a grant program for students of the Kyrgyz Republic to study at Green University, which promotes regional cooperation and capacity building in the fields of sustainable development, environmental research, and climate change.

The signing ceremony was held at Green University, where the distinguished guest was presented with information about the large-scale environmental reforms being carried out by the government of the country, as well as an introductory tour of the university and presented classrooms equipped with modern technologies, a large library, a gym, and other facilities for students.

It is noted that the memorandum is aimed at promoting academic exchange, expanding environmental knowledge, and strengthening ties between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Kyrgyz Republic in solving common environmental problems. The Grant Places program will start from the 2024-2025 academic year.
