During the meeting, the foreign side was provided with information on the ongoing large-scale administrative reforms in the Republic of Uzbekistan, including in the fields of ecology and environmental protection, and on the priorities set for the Ministry in the field of improving the waste management system.
At the same time, the guests were informed about the unprecedented measures being taken to create a favorable investment climate and increase investment attractiveness in the country.
In turn, the Chinese side noted that plans to improve the waste management system and the development of the environmental industry are clearly outlined for the understanding of potential partners and investors.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation on the Project of an Incineration Power Plant in the Republic of Uzbekistan was signed between the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and "China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd." of the People's Republic of China.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached on sending a Chinese expert group to study and organize work in the field of waste management in Uzbekistan and develop an initial design of the plant for presentation to the leadership of the republic.
In addition, prospects for cooperation in the field of eco-tourism and exploring the possibilities of building a new cable car in the mountainous areas of the Samarkand region were considered.
At the end of the meeting, a visit to the Ministry's Situation Center was organized for the guests to familiarize themselves with the online air quality monitoring system and response to environmental violations, as well as the tracking system for waste collection and transportation equipment.
