Construction of Data Centers Powered by Green Energy and Prospects for Cooperation Discussed with DataVolt

A key event during the "ICT Week Uzbekistan 2024" was the panel discussion titled "Net Zero Data Center and AI: DataVolt – Innovator of Uzbekistan's Digital Future," featuring the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and DataVolt CEO, Mr. Rajit Nanda.
In his address, Minister Shermatov outlined Uzbekistan's key initiatives in its digital transformation journey, stressing the critical role of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in this process.
DataVolt’s foreign direct investments are expected to be a cornerstone in improving Uzbekistan's digital infrastructure, with plans to build three data centers with a combined capacity of 500 MW by 2032.
The panel highlighted the importance of adhering to ethical principles in the deployment of AI technologies, ensuring that such advancements serve the public good.
In cooperation with DataVolt’s CEO, the panel offered an extensive review of Uzbekistan’s technological infrastructure and future AI development prospects.
The session also underscored the significance of constructing data centers powered by green energy, contributing to the creation of an ecologically sustainable digital economy. As part of this initiative, a tripartite agreement was signed for the implementation of the first phase of the green-powered data center project.
