New Stages in Cooperation with UNESCO Discussed

During Digital Education Week in Paris, representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies met with Ms. Stefania Giannini, UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Education, to discuss future prospects for advancing digital education cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNESCO.
Both parties emphasized the crucial role of digital technologies in transforming Uzbekistan's education system. Ms. Giannini acknowledged Uzbekistan's significant progress in digital transformation, particularly in areas such as online education, digital literacy and teacher training initiatives.
Rustam Karimjonov, Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies, highlighted Uzbekistan's strong partnership with UNESCO, particularly in building a dynamic digital education ecosystem and promoting the digitalization of various sectors.
"Our close cooperation with UNESCO serves as a model for other countries. We are confident that this partnership will provide us with the necessary support and knowledge to develop a comprehensive digital education system in Uzbekistan," stated Karimjonov.
Ms. Giannini praised Uzbekistan's commitment to using digital technologies to improve the quality and accessibility of education. She also emphasized the country's potential to become a regional leader in digital education, given its strategic investments and focus on technology. Furthermore, Ms. Giannini expressed UNESCO’s continued commitment to supporting Uzbekistan in establishing a fully integrated digital educational environment.
