Panel Session: Minister Discusses Ongoing Digital Transformation Efforts and the Significance of Artificial Intelligence in Uzbekistan

The plenary session "Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Government" was held within the framework of the "UN PUBLIC SERVICE FORUM 2024" organized in the Republic of Korea. Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, took part in the session and delivered a speech.
D. Kusnezov, member of the Government Committee of the Korea Digital Platform and head of the Digital Twin TF group, Inhyok Cha, and Barbara-Chiara Ubaldi, deputy head of the Public Governance Directorate of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, also took part in the session.
During the panel discussion, the participants discussed the use of artificial intelligence technologies in public administration and shared the advanced experience of countries in this field. Minister Sh. Shermatov noted that this event is very important and that Uzbekistan is now focusing on digital transformation of the government. He also emphasized that artificial intelligence technologies are the drivers of the near future development, adding that Uzbekistan is taking important steps in this direction and that these technologies are necessary to prepare the next generation.
In turn, during his speech, the Minister touched on the work carried out in the field of digitization in our country, the state of development of this industry and the conditions created, informing about the penetration of artificial intelligence into state management in Uzbekistan, in particular, the MyID system, which was the first in Central Asia based on these technologies, successfully certified by the iBeta laboratory accredited by the US National Institute of Standards and Technology.
At the same time, he emphasized that on the Coursera platform Uzbekistan took the first place in the ranking of the countries of the world investing in the training of personnel with the necessary skills for the labor market.
