ADDRESS OF THE PROSECUTOR OF ANDIJAN CITY TO THE RESIDENTS
On the initiative of our esteemed President, large-scale reforms are being implemented in all sectors. New mechanisms are being introduced in our city to ensure peace, stability and public safety. The results of these efforts are becoming increasingly visible in everyday life.
Alongside ensuring the inevitability of punishment for crimes, measures are being taken to eliminate the causes and factors that lead to criminal activity and to create a safe environment in every street, market and public place in our city.
🔆 At the end of the first nine months of 2026, a total of 1,268 crimes were recorded in Andijan city, which is 91 fewer than during the same period last year.
🔆 Of the 1,268 recorded crimes, 566 were preventable crimes, 659 were crimes subject to detection, and 43 were committed in the field of information technology.
🔆 Of the 566 preventable crimes, 288, or 60 percent, were crimes that could have been prevented within mahalla communities.
In Andijan city, responsible officials have been assigned to eight mahallas with the most challenging crime situations. Roadmaps for the city and its mahallas have been developed and put into implementation.
🔷 As part of the implementation of these roadmaps, a total of 40 cameras have been installed in Andijan city since the beginning of the year: 23 surveillance cameras in crowded public areas and streets, 8 PTZ cameras in apartment buildings, 20 cameras at the entrances and exits of mahallas, 3 facial and vehicle number plate recognition cameras in shopping centres and markets, 8 cameras at the entrances and exits of schools and preschool educational institutions, and 3 PTZ cameras at outdoor sports facilities.
🔷 More than 1,300 warning stickers have been placed throughout mahallas to encourage residents to remain vigilant. These include messages such as "Area Under Video Surveillance!", "Premises Under Protection!" and "House Under Protection!". Internal roads and streets are being equipped with lighting. "Model Safe Streets" and "Model Safe Pedestrian Walkways" are also being established in mahallas.
The results of our efforts are already evident in practice. In particular, thanks to the measures taken, crimes have been prevented in mahallas, and the overall crime situation has stabilised.
⚠️ Another important issue is the increasing number of crimes in the field of information technology in our city.
Relevant government authorities are carrying out extensive measures aimed at preventing such crimes and promptly detecting and solving those that have already been committed.
Nevertheless, I would like to once again urge citizens to strictly follow security measures when using bank cards and bank accounts, and to completely ignore any calls or requests from unknown individuals concerning money transfers.
Measures are also being taken to strengthen the fight against everyday corruption.
Particular attention will be paid to preventing and combating corruption in the healthcare, school and preschool education, and energy sectors.
From now on, we will take cooperation in combating corruption to a new level by strengthening partnerships with all governmental and non-governmental organisations, the city administration and representatives of the wider community.
In the fight against crime, the prosecutor's office guarantees the necessary cooperation and measures to put an end to all forms of criminal activity.
Therefore, we call upon residents and the wider public to actively cooperate in preventing and eliminating crime.
In conclusion, I personally guarantee a prompt response to any form of criminal activity and the enforcement of the inevitability of punishment for those who commit crimes.
