Rights and Obligations of Citizens in Accessing Information on the Activities of State Bodies and Organizations
In accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the current legislation, citizens are guaranteed the right to seek, receive, use, and disseminate information on the activities of state bodies and organizations in the manner prescribed by law.
State bodies and organizations, in order to ensure openness and transparency of their activities, regularly publish socially significant information on their official websites, in mass media, and on other information resources. Additionally, citizens’ requests for access to information are reviewed in accordance with the procedures established by law.
When using state information, citizens must adhere to the principles of legality, objectivity, and responsibility. It is prohibited to use obtained information to harm the honor and dignity of others, to disseminate false information, or to disclose information protected by law.
At the same time, the procedure for the use of state secrets, official secrets, personal data, and other types of restricted information is determined separately, and such information is not subject to disclosure.
Citizens have the right to apply to state bodies and organizations in written or electronic form to obtain information. Such requests are reviewed within the established time limits, and a response is provided to the applicant in accordance with the law.
