Today, on November 5, a final reporting event of the project “Intellectual Property Management Clinic for Women-Led Small and Medium Enterprises” was launched in Tashkent, organized jointly by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Ministry of Justice.
The event aims to support women-led SMEs in Central Asia, the Caucasus, and Eastern Europe (CACEEC), enhance their capacity in the field of intellectual property, and strengthen the role of IP strategies in business development.
Participants first visited one of the major textile enterprises in Uzbekistan — “Nurtex” LLC, led by women entrepreneurs. The head of the company, Muhabbat Tashmuhammedova, briefed the guests on production processes, the share of women’s labor, and the company’s experience in using intellectual property objects.
It is noteworthy that today the company specializes in producing workwear and footwear and has created more than 1,000 jobs.
The event is attended by high-level WIPO representatives — Habip Asan, Ilya Gribkov, Saidahmad Azimov — as well as project participants from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, the leadership of the Ministry of Justice, and local women entrepreneurs.
