A bilateral meeting was held between the Minister of Justice Akbar Tashkulov and the delegation led by Carsten Müller, Chairman of the Committee on Legal Protection of Justice and Consumer Rights of the Bundestag of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Minister A. Tashkulov informed the delegation about the tasks and functions of the Ministry of Justice and the reforms carried out in recent years, in particular about digital justice and the AI-based system “LexAI”.
It was noted that close cooperation has been established with the German Foundation for International Legal Cooperation (IRZ), and that large-scale work is being carried out within the framework of the European Union’s “TWINNING” project to systematize the national legislative framework.
Carsten Müller highly appreciated the reforms implemented in Uzbekistan in the field of justice and law in recent years. He also expressed interest in the state-funded free legal aid system for the population.
It was emphasized that the Ministry of Justice, in cooperation with the NGO “Madad”, has launched the legal information portal “Advice.uz” (e-maslahat.uz), which allows citizens of Uzbekistan, foreign citizens and stateless persons to receive free legal advice online.
During the meeting, a Joint Declaration on Legal Cooperation was signed with the Ministry of Justice of the Federal Republic of Germany. Under this document, opportunities have been created for direct cooperation in the areas of human rights, law-making, digitalization, anti-corruption expertise, juvenile justice, intellectual property protection, arbitration, and legal assistance in family and civil cases.
