Deputy Minister of Justice N. Mukhammadiyev met with a delegation consisting of experts from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).
During the meeting, N. Mukhammadiyev emphasized that the project “Establishing an AI-based Legal Service Environment and Creating the Korea–Uzbekistan Law Center,” implemented in cooperation with KOICA and valued at 14.5 million USD, is one of the strategic initiatives in the history of Uzbekistan’s legal system.
For reference: This project aims not only to develop a modern digital legal infrastructure but also to advance AI-based legal services, establishing a convenient and efficient system of providing legal assistance to the public.
At the meeting, the following issues were discussed with KOICA experts:
▪️ The state of legal regulation of artificial intelligence and information technologies;
▪️ The use of AI in the development of normative legal acts;
▪️ Dissemination of legal information to the population and digitalization of this sphere, including the capabilities of the national legislative information database Lex.uz;
▪️ The need for specialists and special equipment in the field of legal regulation of IT and the use of AI and information technologies in lawmaking.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was emphasized that the Korea–Uzbekistan Law Center, planned within the framework of this project, will become a hub for legal knowledge and experience exchange between the two countries. It will also strengthen cooperation between the Ministry of Justice, Tashkent State University of Law, and Korean partner organizations, creating wide opportunities for new educational programs, joint research, seminars, and conferences.
