It is known that in recent times, the number of appeals submitted to the Ministry of Justice regarding the unauthorized use of musical works — which are considered objects of copyright — has significantly increased.
In another case of copyright infringement, the Society for the Protection of Copyright and Related Rights of the Republic of Uzbekistan received a complaint from Farhod Muminov, a member of the society and author of the poems “Qo‘shni qiz” and “Men turganda”. The complaint stated that these works had been performed by singer Mirjalol Nematov without the author’s consent, and requested legal action. The Ministry of Justice reviewed the matter.
During the review, it was established that Mirjalol Nematov had indeed used the poems belonging to Farhod Muminov without authorization. In connection with this, administrative offense reports were drawn up against the violator under Article 177¹ of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the case was forwarded to the relevant court.
According to the decision of the Uchtepa District Criminal Court of Tashkent City, the violator was fined in accordance with Part 1, Article 177¹ of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
