Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Participates in Asian Development Bank Institute Conference on International Mediation

Representatives from the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan attended the international conference titled “Alternative Dispute Resolution: Disseminating International Mediation in the Asia and Pacific Region” held in Tokyo on February 18-19, 2025. The event was organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), and the Ministry of Justice of Japan.
The conference gathered legal experts, mediators, arbitrators, and government officials from around the world to discuss the latest trends, practical approaches, and challenges in mediation and arbitration.
Key topics included the Singapore Convention on Mediation, the UNCITRAL Model Law on International Commercial Mediation, and the various organizational and legal frameworks for mediation across different countries. Participants shared valuable insights on the effectiveness of mediation and arbitration as alternative dispute resolution methods.
Representatives from Uzbekistan presented information on the country’s ongoing reforms in mediation and arbitration, emphasizing Uzbekistan’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation in these areas.
