Meeting Held with Director of a United Nations University Institute

In Toronto, Canada, First Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan M. Istamov met with Professor K. Madani, Director of an institute of the United Nations University.
The meeting focused on improving legal mechanisms for the management and protection of water resources, incorporating international experience into national legislation, and further developing cooperation.
It was noted that Uzbekistan is paying particular attention to strengthening the legal framework in this area, including the adoption of a new Water Code in 2025.
K. Madani positively assessed the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and the developing cooperation with the Institute.
The parties discussed further practical cooperation, expert exchanges, and the implementation of joint initiatives.
