✅ An international scientific and practical conference titled “35 Years on the Path to the Rule of Law: Legal Education, Science and Innovation at a New Stage of Development” was held in Tashkent to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of Tashkent State University of Law.

➡️ The event brought together representatives of state authorities and public administration bodies, the judicial and legal sector, heads of higher education and research institutions from Uzbekistan and abroad, renowned legal scholars, international experts, professors and lecturers, graduates and students.

➡️ At the plenary session, Minister of Justice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akbar Tashkulov addressed the participants, highlighting the importance of further improving modern legal education in line with international standards, strengthening the integration of research with practice, and training a new generation of legal professionals.

📌 Today, TSUL is implementing systematic reforms aimed at taking legal education and science to a new level. In particular:

🔵 a new management model comprising an academic department, research centre, and practice and career centre has been introduced within the faculties;

🔵 31 priority areas and 182 sub-areas have been identified within 14 thematic blocks for the development of legal science in 2026–2030;

🔵 to strengthen the integration of theory and practice, a continuous internship system at 120 public and private organizations has been established for second- to fourth-year students;

🔵 nearly 96% of university graduates are employed, while 72% of graduates of the 2025/2026 academic year secured employment through dual education before graduating;

🔵 71 articles by professors, lecturers and researchers have been published in international scientific journals indexed in Scopus;

🔵 as of August 2026, 38 academic thesis defenses have been held, including 6 DSc and 32 PhD defenses.

✅ Law is a profession of particular responsibility. The fate of a person, their property, freedom and dignity may depend on a lawyer’s decisions. Therefore, alongside profound knowledge, the legal profession requires a clear conscience, integrity and strong determination, — Minister of Justice Akbar Tashkulov emphasized in his speech.

➡️ The conference also addressed the university’s “TSUL–2030” Development Strategy, prospects for expanding international scientific cooperation, supporting student initiatives, and further digitalizing legal education.
