The Law “On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan” Approved by the Senate

As previously reported , the Law developed by the Ministry of Justice and aimed at improving procedures for resolving undisputed matters was considered at a regular meeting of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on Judicial and Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption.
Today, the Law was discussed at the 19th plenary session of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis.
The Law introduces amendments and additions to the Civil and Economic Procedural Codes, as well as the Laws “On Execution of Court Acts and Acts of Other Bodies” and “On State Duty”. The amendments provide for narrowing the scope of issuance of court orders for undisputed claims, expanding the use of information and communication technologies in notarial activities, and optimizing state duties charged for writs of execution.
Under the proposed amendments, the possibility of applying to a notary in respect of undisputed claims of up to 1,000 times the base calculation amount (BCA) that meet the criteria established by law is being expanded. This will simplify the mechanism for formalizing such claims and referring them for enforcement through a notary without having to apply to the court.
In addition, notaries will be able to send writs of execution issued in electronic form directly to enforcement authorities.
This, in turn, will help reduce unnecessary procedures associated with submitting documents in paper form.
During the discussion, it was emphasized that these amendments will help reduce the workload of courts, save the time and costs of citizens and business entities, ensure the prompt formalization of undisputed claims, and improve the efficiency of enforcement.
Following the discussion, the Law was approved by the Senators.
