As part of the implementation of Resolution No. 375 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated July 9, 2026, the non-governmental non-profit organization “oriGIn Uzbekistan”, established in the form of an institution by the Tashkent State University of Law, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the “Hunarmand” Association, has been officially registered.

The organization’s main objectives are to develop and widely promote geographical indications, promote national products in foreign markets, and provide entrepreneurs and artisans with legal and methodological support in identifying, registering, and commercializing geographical indications.

The activities of “oriGIn Uzbekistan” will include:

✅ identifying promising geographical indications and facilitating their registration;

✅ promoting national geographical indications both domestically and internationally;

✅ developing associations of entrepreneurs using geographical indications;

✅ supporting the commercialization of national products and facilitating their access to international markets;

✅ organizing festivals, trade fairs, exhibitions, and other promotional events dedicated to geographical indications.

“oriGIn Uzbekistan” will contribute to promoting the uniqueness and origin of national products internationally, increasing their economic value, and further strengthening the reputation of the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand.
