From 24 to 27 August, an Uzbek delegation led by Minister of Justice Akbar Tashkulov is participating in the international events of Singapore Convention Week 2026 in Singapore.
The week features discussions on advanced practices in mediation, arbitration, international commercial disputes, legal technologies, and the role of artificial intelligence in dispute resolution.
The delegation led by the Minister of Justice held talks with Tan Kong Hwe, head of the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS).
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to exchange experience in the following areas:
— commercializing intellectual property and transforming it into an economic asset;
— digitalizing patent examination;
— resolving intellectual property-related disputes through mediation.
The parties also reached an agreement to enhance the professional skills of Uzbek specialists by organizing training programs on intellectual property commercialization and startup acceleration with the participation of Singaporean experts.
The goal is to introduce international best practices into national practice, transform intellectual property into economic value, and develop mechanisms for the swift and effective resolution of disputes.
The Uzbek delegation’s working program in Singapore is ongoing.
