The Fergana Regional Justice Department organized this meeting with the participation of young people, creators, and specialists in order to promote and further develop respect for copyright and related rights.
During the meeting, participants received detailed information on what copyright is, how it can be protected, how to generate continuous income from creative works, combating plagiarism and its legal consequences, as well as issues of criminal liability for copyright infringement.
It was also explained that important amendments were introduced to the Criminal Code by Law No. O‘RQ-1080 of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was emphasized that criminal liability is now established not only for misappropriation of copyright and related rights, but also for their unlawful use.
