A meeting was held at the Ministry of Justice with representatives of the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) under the Ministry of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Korea.
📌 The meeting was organized within the framework of the implementation of Resolution No. RP–358 of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated November 27, 2025, regarding the development of the National Strategy for the Development of the Intellectual Property Sector for 2027–2030.
🤝 The Korean side was represented by Hong Seok Jang, representative of the “LOUD” law firm and patent attorney, as well as Sang Yeon Hwang, Senior Expert and Group Leader of the International Cooperation Department at KIPA.
💬 During the dialogue, the parties discussed the authorized state bodies and the existing intellectual property system in Uzbekistan, mechanisms for protecting intellectual property rights and liability measures for infringements, as well as prospects for further development of the sector.
🌐 The participants also exchanged views on engaging international experts in the development of the national strategy, studying the advanced experience of the Republic of Korea, and expanding bilateral cooperation.
📍 As part of the visit, a number of meetings are also planned with representatives of organizations within the Ministry of Justice system, the Supreme Court, the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Association of Patent Attorneys, and valuation organizations.
