Ensuring the rule of law: an important meeting was held within the framework of an international project

🔹A joint meeting was organized at the Ministry of Justice with the participation of national partners and beneficiaries within the framework of the project “Strengthening the Rule of Law and Protection of Human Rights in Uzbekistan,” implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland.
🔹The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Justice M. Ikramov, representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland Katja Hirvonen, Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights of the Oliy Majlis (Ombudsman) B. Narimanov, as well as officials of ministries and agencies, non-governmental non-commercial organizations, and project beneficiaries.
🔹During the event, the results achieved within the framework of the project were discussed, in particular the development of the free legal aid system, raising the legal literacy of the population, and supporting socially vulnerable groups.
🔹In particular, it was noted that more than 2 million citizens have been provided with free legal assistance in recent years, and a number of normative-legal documents have been adopted in this area.
🔹It was also emphasized that within the framework of the project, seminars, trainings, round-table discussions, and international conferences have been organized, with special attention paid to enhancing the legal culture of citizens.
🔹At the meeting, presentations were made on the results of projects implemented within the small grants program, in particular the achievements and existing challenges in providing primary legal aid to women and persons with disabilities.
