As we reported earlier, our compatriot Afruza Hamdamova, who achieved a historic victory at the FIDE World Championship for Juniors in Brazil, was warmly welcomed this morning at Tashkent International Airport.

The ceremony was attended by the Director of the Youth Affairs Agency and First Deputy Chairman of the Chess Federation, Alisher Sadullayev, as well as Deputy Minister of Sports Shaxrillo Mahmudov. The two-time world champion and her coach were awarded monetary prizes and commemorative gifts.
