Opportunity to Accrue Work Experience for Unemployed Family Members Will Be Created

A new procedure is being introduced into Uzbekistan's pension provision system. Starting January 1, 2027, citizens with official income will be able to voluntarily pay social tax on behalf of an unemployed family member, enabling them to accrue work experience for pension eligibility.
To do this, a monthly payment of 12% of the minimum wage (MROT) is required. According to current calculations, this amounts to 163,200 UZS.
Meanwhile, another change concerning the calculation of work experience for pensions will take effect on October 1, 2026. If an individual working under a civil-law contract pays the social tax in the amount set for self-employed individuals, one year of work experience will be credited to them automatically.
