The Senate Committee on Agrarian, Water Management Issues and Ecology studied the activities of the Scientific and Production Center for the Cultivation and Processing of Medicinal Plants under the Forest Agency. Initially, discussions were held with specialists, laboratory staff, and researchers working at the Center.
It should be noted that in recent years, the Center has been carrying out a lot of work on the cultivation and processing of medicinal plants, the study of territories with wild medicinal plants, the identification of their reserves, and the creation of mother plantations. Today, specialists of the Center have developed agrotechnological maps of 34 types of cultivated medicinal plants.
Researchers of the Center's Laboratory for the Introduction and Agrotechnology of Medicinal Plants have identified the areas and reserves of medicinal plants on forest fund lands in the regions and created their electronic maps. Research is being conducted on the acclimatization of medicinal plant varieties, adapted to local conditions.
In the experimental plot of the Pskent district of the Tashkent region, breeding and collection nurseries of more than 60 species of medicinal plants have been created. During the study, specialists made proposals on problems and their solutions.
It was also noted that it is necessary to rationally use available resources, increase the export potential of the industry, and create a laboratory for certification and standardization of medicinal plant raw materials and their products.
