The Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography of China is participating in the international exhibition of ecological technologies "Eco Expo Central Asia 2025," which is taking place at the CAEx Uzbekistan complex in Tashkent. At this exhibition, the institute presents modern environmental technologies produced by 11 Chinese companies.
It should be noted that a number of works are being carried out within the framework of cooperation between the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography and the Agency for the Expansion of Forests and Green Areas, Combating Desertification. In particular, in Uzbekistan, special attention is paid to expanding the area of land for growing saline-resistant halophyte plant species.
In cooperation with the institute, a modern innovative project has been launched to create halophyte orchards in our country to mitigate the consequences of climate change. Currently, within the framework of this project, land plots for halophyte orchards have been allocated in the Arnasay, Mubarek, Karakul, Karmana, and Nukus districts. Currently, 1.3 tons of seedlings have been planted in these areas.
Modern technologies manufactured in China serve to determine the fertility of the lands allocated for these halophyte orchards, identify climate-appropriate seedling species, and increase their viability. Also, planting halophytic plants in saline desert and semi-desert areas contributes to ensuring ecological stability, reducing soil erosion, and reducing the level of salinity.
At the international exhibition of ecological technologies "Eco Expo Central Asia 2025," an exchange of views took place between the Agency for the Expansion of Forest and Green Areas, Combating Desertification, and the Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography.
